Dear Staff & Students,

It is my great pleasure to greet you all on the opening of the new academic session 2014-15. In extending my heartiest welcome and prayers for a blessed year ahead, I also congratulate you on the successful completion of the year 2013-14.

2014, India will exercise her franchise to elect her leaders. Leaders who can contribute to finding of solutions to society's problems and facilitate a corruption free, just and financially sound nation. Lack of such outstanding leaders is the problem of our modern society. While catchphrases like "jago re" are recent attempts to mobilize the populace confront this crisis, CBS from genesis has echoed "Dei Mundus Deo". In her obligation to academic and holistic excellence, CBS endeavours to identify and nurture future leaders and endow the "Generation Next" with proficiency, prudence and pragmatic agility. The Total Personality Development Programme (TPDP) of CBS publicly re-affirms her commitment to prepare "the world of God, for God".

Students you are the "Generation Next", so believe in yourself ! The key to success is : Self-confidence, perseverance and systemized working. Claim for yourself these words of St. Paul, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians IV:13) and perfect your own God-given powers. Remember, "They alone conquer, who believe they can". As you begin this new academic session, it is my prayer that the Spirit of God help you to be more enthusiastic, conscientious and meticulous in preparing your lessons.

This academic year ushers in a change for the students in the Junior School. This is the implementation of a revised assessment procedure with more emphasis laid on oral and aural work. The number of assessments per semester has also been reduced to two (from four). Tentative dates and mark distribution for these assessments/class assignments are printed in the school diary for effective preparation. I am sure that you all will benefit from this revised and updated curriculum.

Dear Staff members of all three campuses, CBS owes the success of all her programmes to each one of you. I sincerely hope to continue receiving your co-operation as you maintain working closely and diligently, using your experience and expertise to discover and groom more such 'future leaders'.

In wishing you all a blessed and rewarding 2014-15, I encourage you to make the most of this unique opportunity of being part of CBS – share valuable information, deepen your friendships and strengthen the bonds between Christ, Boys and Staff: this will be the manifestation of the real CBS. Read this diary carefully and make optimum use of it, bringing it to school everyday.

May the Father Almighty guide and bless you !
